Samyak Mitra Foundation

You can find us at Samyak Mitra Foundation over in Dadar East. We are on the second floor of B.D.D. Chawl number seven A. This is a very old part of Mumbai and the building has that classic look you see in Naigaon. Our room is number forty-nine and it’s right on V.Y. Dahivalkar Road. If you stand by the window you can see the police ground across the street. It gets very lively there during sports events or parades. The stairs in the chawl are stone and they’ve been worn down over many years. It’s a tight space but we make it work for our daily tasks. We don’t have air conditioning so we keep the windows open for the breeze. There’s always the sound of children playing or neighbors talking in the hallways. It’s a very human place to work. We have a few metal lockers for our files and a big table where we all sit together. Sometimes it’s a bit dusty because of the construction work nearby. People from the chawl often stop by just to say hello or ask a quick question. We don’t have a fancy website or a marketing team. We just focus on the stuff that needs to be done right here in Naigaon. It’s a humble spot but everyone in the area knows where B.D.D. Chawl 7A is and how to get there.
