Ring Sustainable Development Foundation

You’ll find Ring Sustainable Development Foundation over in Wadala, on the first floor of the Salesiana Building at Plot 167. It’s on Nathlal M Parekh Marg, a road that stays pretty busy throughout the day. Wadala is one of those old Mumbai neighborhoods where everything feels packed together. Our office is in a building that has seen better days, but it has a lot of heart. We focus on sustainability, which basically means we look for ways to make things last longer and waste less in the local area. There are only a few of us here, and we usually have maps and charts pinned to the walls. The stairs up to the first floor are a bit narrow, and the noise from the street never really stops, but we’ve gotten used to it. We don’t do any fancy marketing or try to sound like a big international organization. We are just local people who care about how the city is changing. Sometimes we spend the whole day just talking to people in the building or the neighbors on the plot next door. It’s honest work, and it can be frustrating when things move slowly, but we keep showing up. We like the grit of Wadala and the fact that we aren't hidden away in some sterile office park. It feels real here.
