Rare Family Foundation

We are way up on the 15th floor of Nariman Bhavan, in room 151. The building is on Plot 227 along Vinayak Kumar Shah Marg in Nariman Point. It’s one of those classic old business buildings in South Mumbai. The Rare Family Foundation has been operating from this high-rise for quite some time. Even though we are in a famous business district, our office doesn't feel like a big corporate headquarters. It’s actually pretty small and a bit crowded with old files and stacks of paper. The view of the sea is nice if you look out the window, but we are usually too busy to notice. We have a couple of old wooden desks and some chairs that have seen better days. The elevator in the building can be a bit slow during the lunch hour when everyone is trying to get downstairs. We don't have a lot of visitors compared to the big firms in the building, but we stay busy with our own work. It’s a quiet office mostly, just the sound of typing and the occasional phone call. We don't do any big advertising or have a PR person. People who need to find us usually know the address already. It’s just a practical spot in a busy part of town where we can get through our list of things to do. We prefer keeping things low-key and just getting on with it. It’s just our little corner in a very tall building.
