Rai Athlete Champions Foundation

Santacruz West is where we spend all our time. We are based right on S Patil Marg near the Bandh. The Rai Athlete Champions Foundation is located on the first floor of Shiv Darshan Chawl. Shiv Darshan Chawl is directly opposite the Sonal Building. Active neighborhoods like this one can be quite loud most of the time. Gazdhar is always moving with the sound of traffic and people. Focusing on sports and helping out the local athletes lacking support is what we do. Our office is not a fancy gym with new machines; it is just a small room where we keep our files and meet with young people who want to compete. There is a lot of hidden talent in these streets, and we just try to give them a bit of help. The chawl building is old, and the stairs are a bit narrow and steep for some visitors. Simple setups work best for us. We have some pictures of athletes on the walls just to keep the place looking okay. Most days we are outside on the local grounds or at the running tracks rather than sitting at a desk. We spend our mornings coordinating things and our evenings out with the kids. Lack of space is a struggle sometimes, but we keep going. Real people in a real neighborhood is how we see ourselves. We just want to see our local kids do well in their sports.
