Pooja Art Gallers is located at Kharodi 353/A, and it’s a place that stays pretty quiet most of the time. Unlike the food shops around here, we don't have people rushing in and out all day. It’s a slower pace of life in this gallery. We spend a lot of our time framing pictures or rearranging the pieces on the walls to see how they look in different light. It’s a bit of a dusty job, actually, because frames and glass seem to attract every speck of dirt in the air. I’m usually seen with a cleaning cloth in my hand, trying to make sure everything looks decent for whoever might walk through the door. The shop isn't very large, so we have to be careful about how much we put out at once. We work with a few local artists who bring their things in, and we just try to find a spot for them. Sometimes the neighborhood kids stop by just to look at the colors, and that’s fine with us. We don't have a big marketing budget or a fancy catalog. Most of our visitors are people who live nearby and saw us while walking their dogs or going to the market. It’s a simple business, really. We handle the art, talk to the customers, and keep the lights on. It’s just what we do here in Kharodi, and we’ve been at it for a while now. Some days are slow, but that’s just how it goes for a small gallery.
