Parekh Radio & Watch Services

Our shop is called Parekh Radio & Watch Services. We are located at 39A, Tenkar Villa Estate on A K Marg. This part of Malabar Hill is usually quite nice and peaceful. We have been in this spot for a lot of years now. The shop is small and it's full of old tools and parts that I’ve collected over time. We still fix radios even though most people use their phones for music these days. You would be surprised how many people still have an old radio they want to keep running for some reason. Then there are the watches. I work on everything from the cheap ones to the ones that people inherit from their grandfathers. The workbench is usually a mess of tiny parts, but I know where everything is. My hands get a bit shaky sometimes if I’ve had too much tea, so I have to be careful with the tiny screws. People come here because we have been here forever. They know we aren't going anywhere. It is not a shiny store with bright lights or air conditioning. It is just a workshop where we get things done. Sometimes the weather gets really humid and it makes the metal parts sticky, so I have to clean everything twice. A K Marg is a busy place during the day, but once you step inside here, it feels a bit slower. We just keep doing what we do every day without much fuss.
