Omesha Arts is located at number 16 in the Uttar Bhartiya Cooperative in Kurla West. It’s a neighborhood that feels very lived-in and busy. Our space is where we handle all our artistic projects and daily tasks. It’s not a huge studio, but it has enough room for our tools and the pieces we are working on. Kurla is a place with a lot of character, and the cooperative building reflects that. We see a lot of the same people every day as they go about their business in the area. Our work at Omesha Arts is mostly hands-on. We spend hours focusing on the details of whatever project is on the table at the moment. The lighting isn't always perfect, but we make do with what we have. Sometimes the noise from the street gets a bit much, but once we get into our work, we tend to block it out. We don’t have a fancy website or a marketing person. Most of our work comes from people who just know where we are or heard about us from a neighbor. It’s a very local way of doing things. We enjoy the process of making things and seeing them finished. When the day is over, we tidy up the tools and get ready to do it all again tomorrow. It’s just how we live and work here.
