New Fancy Arts

We are located in Malad East. It’s a bit of a trek to find us if you aren’t from around here. We are on Subramanyapuram Main Road, in Bendre Nagar. The actual spot is Room No 2 11 in the Latif Shah CHS. It’s a small space, very cramped. We have boxes of art supplies and finished pieces stacked up to the ceiling. New Fancy Arts isn't a gallery or a big store. It’s more of a workshop. There are usually three or four of us in there at a time, so it gets a bit tight. We have to move things around just to find a place to sit. The building is an old cooperative housing society, so you hear everything that’s going on with the neighbors. Kids playing in the hallway, someone cooking, the whole bit. We don’t have a proper sign, just the name painted on the door. The fan in the room makes a clicking sound that we’ve all stopped noticing. It’s a lot of manual work, using our hands to make things. We get a lot of dust from the main road, so we are always cleaning our work surfaces. It’s not a polished business by any means. We just like making stuff and this room was what we could afford. It’s a busy, messy, creative little corner of Malad where we spend our days.
