Mumbai Art Room

You can find us over in Colaba, right in the Pipewala Building. We are tucked away in the rear courtyard, which actually makes it a bit quieter than the main street. Being opposite the Navy Children School means we hear the kids during their breaks, which gives the place some life. The Art Room isn't a massive gallery or anything like that. It’s more of a workspace where things actually happen. We’ve got paint, brushes, and whatever projects we are currently messing with scattered around. Colaba is a bit of a trek for some, but it’s a good area for what we do. The building is old and has that specific smell of old Mumbai, which we kind of like. It’s not polished or shiny. There are water stains on some walls and the floor is a bit uneven, but it works for us. We spend our days mostly focused on the art itself rather than worrying about the decor of the office. It’s a place for people who actually like to make things. We don't really have a front desk or a receptionist. If you walk in, you’ll probably just see one of us working on something. It’s simple and honest. We like the courtyard because it feels like a little escape from the Colaba traffic. Most days are just about finishing a piece or planning the next one and keeping the space usable for everyone.
