Moksa Foundation And Charitable Association is located in an old part of Mumbai, right in Chira Bazar. We are in the Lakdawala Building on Shrikant Palekar Marg. If you find Sonapur X Lane, you are basically there. Our space is on the first floor, room number seven. It’s one of those classic buildings with high ceilings and narrow stairs. Sometimes the walk up feels longer than it is, especially when it’s hot outside. Kalbadevi is always full of noise—horns honking, people shouting, and carts being pushed around. Inside our office, it’s a bit quieter, but you can still hear the city moving. We’ve been here for a while and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we’re too busy for that. We have stacks of books and papers everywhere. It’s an honest place where we just sit down and get to work. Most of us have lived in Mumbai all our lives, so we don’t mind the cramped streets. Being in such a central spot means we get to see a lot of different people every day. We don’t have a big reception desk or a lobby. You just walk in and someone will be there at a desk. We just want to keep things going and help out where we can. It’s a small association, but we put in the hours every single day to make sure our tasks are finished.
