Mariam Tailor

You can find Mariam Tailor over at the Sona Shopping Centre. We are located in Plot No, right in Bandra West. It is the Khubavali area, and we are quite close to the Globus Cinema. Bandra is a lively place to have a shop. People are always walking past the shopping centre on their way to see a movie or go to the market. Inside, it is a bit quieter. We have our sewing machines set up and there is always thread all over the floor. It is just the way a tailor shop should be. We spend the whole day measuring and cutting fabric. Sometimes the light in the shopping centre isn't the best, so we have extra lamps at our tables. People bring in all sorts of clothes for us to fix or make. We have seen styles change over the years sitting right here. The Globus Cinema is a good landmark for people who haven't been here before. Bandra West has gotten much busier since we first started out. The rent goes up and the shops around us change, but we stay put at Sona. It is a small space but it fits everything we need. We don't do much advertising. Mostly it’s just people from the neighborhood who know our work. We just keep our heads down and keep sewing until the sun goes down.
