Mangal Moorti Art

You can find Mangal Moorti Art at Shop No 4 and 5 in the Maneklal Corner. We are located in Ghatkopar West, right opposite the Water Works. Being near the water works is a good landmark because everyone in the area knows where that is. We have two shops next to each other because we needed the extra space for all the work we do. Most of our time is spent working on idols and various art pieces. It is a lot of manual work, involving clay and paint and a lot of patience. During the festival seasons, the place gets incredibly busy and we are often working late into the night just to finish everything. There is dust everywhere and the smell of fresh paint is always in the air. We don't have a fancy showroom. The idols are just lined up on the floor or on simple wooden shelves for people to see. We talk to people who come in, often families looking for something specific for their home or a local temple event. It is a very personal kind of business. We have been doing this for a long time and our hands show the wear and tear of the trade. We don't have any big marketing plans or a corporate structure. We just focus on the craft and making sure the pieces look right before they leave the shop. It is a simple, hardworking life in Ghatkopar and we are glad to be here.
