Mali Samaj Mahamandal Foundation

Our place is Flat 428 in the Bhagyoday Government Housing Colony in Khernagar. It’s right next to the RNA Complex in Bandra East. Living in a colony like this means you know everyone’s business, which isn't always a bad thing. We started the Mali Samaj Mahamandal Foundation to help keep our community tight. The flat is usually full of people coming and going. We don’t have much in the way of fancy furniture, just some benches and a big table where we do our work. Being in Bandra East, everything is always moving fast. We try to slow things down a bit. We help folks with their paperwork, talk to the youth about staying on the right path, and try to look out for the older generation who might be struggling. It gets pretty noisy with the traffic from the highway nearby, but you stop noticing after a few years. We aren't some big NGO with tons of funding. We’re just a group of people from the same background trying to make life a bit better for our own. Sometimes we argue about how to do things, but we always figure it out in the end. It’s just honest, local work in a part of the city we’ve called home for a long time. We plan to keep doing this for as long as people need us.
