Mahalaxmi Art

Mahalaxmi Art is located on Underai Road in Malad West. We are up on the second floor of the Ashish building, which is right opposite Shreenath Tower. It is a pretty easy place to find once you know the landmark. The workspace here is usually covered in scraps of paper, paint marks, and different types of frames leaning against the walls. We do a lot of hands-on work every day. It is not the kind of place that is always spotless and shiny. We actually like it that way because it shows we are busy making things. Most of the day is spent measuring things or figuring out how to make a specific piece look right. My clothes usually have a bit of glue or wood dust on them by the time I head home. Malad is a very busy area, so there is always noise from the street coming in through the windows. We get locals dropping in to ask about a project or just to see what we are currently working on. We don't have a fancy showroom for people to sit in. It is just a practical space where we can get the work done. Sometimes the lift in the building stops working, so we end up taking the stairs quite a lot. It keeps us moving. We just take it one day at a time, finishing whatever is on the workbench.
