Maker'S Merci Foundation

We are located in Girgaon, right on Maulana Azad Road. It’s an old part of the city and it feels that way too. Mohammedi Manzil is the building name, and we’re on the first floor at Plot 405. Being in the Goldeval area means it is always noisy outside. You hear the horns, the street vendors, and people shouting all day long. Maker'S Merci Foundation is just a small group of us. We have a couple of rooms and a lot of old wooden furniture that’s seen better days. It’s comfortable enough for what we do. We’ve been here long enough that the walls are starting to peel a bit. Work is mostly administrative stuff and talking to people who walk in off the street. Girgaon has a specific feel to it, very traditional and busy. We try to fit into that rhythm. Sometimes we run out of pens or paper and someone has to run down to the corner shop. It’s a bit chaotic but we like it. The plumbing in these old buildings can be a bit temperamental, so we just deal with it. We don’t mind the quirks. We focus on the tasks we have for the day. There's always a long list of things to do. We don't have a big corporate board or any of that. Just us working through the week. The tea shop downstairs is where we get our morning chai. It’s a practical way to live. We do what we can with the resources we have at the moment.
