Lucky Art

Our workshop, Lucky Art, is tucked away in Namsingh Chawll. We are in Bandrekar Wadi, near the Western Express Highway in Jogeshwari East. It’s a busy part of the city. You can hear the highway traffic all the time. Our space is small, numbers 2, 3, and A. We make art pieces and decorative items. There is always a lot of dust and bits of material on the floor. We don't mind it. It shows we are working. We’ve been in Jogeshwari for years. Local people know us as the place where things get made by hand. We don't have a showroom with bright lights. It’s more of a dusty studio. We work with our hands mostly. Sometimes we get a big order and everyone has to stay late. We eat lunch together on the small benches outside. It's not a corporate life. We get our hands dirty every day. The chawl is a tight-knit community. We know everyone around us. We aren't looking to become some huge factory. We just like making things that look nice. If you come looking for us, just ask for the art shop near the highway. We use old tools that have been with us for a long time. The roof leaks a tiny bit when it rains really hard, but we just move the tables. It’s just how things are here in the Wadi. We hope people like the work we do. It takes time to get things right.
