Lalitlalita Foundation

Our office is right on the first floor of Jamunabai Building. If you know where the Kurla Police station is, we are basically right across from it. It's a busy spot, always noisy outside with the traffic and people moving around all day long. Lalitlalita Foundation is a place where we just try to get things done. It’s not a very large space, just room number 8. We’ve been here for a while now. Most days it is just a couple of us sitting with files and trying to organize help for whoever walks in. Kurla West is a crowded place so there is always someone needing something. We don't have a fancy website or a bunch of slogans. We just show up in the morning and see what the day brings. Sometimes we are out in the streets more than we are in the office. It's practical work, you know? Dealing with real problems that people face every day. The building is old but it works for us. We don't need much. Just a desk, some chairs, and a bit of patience. People often drop by because they saw the sign while passing by. We talk to them, listen, and see if there's a way to be useful. It's a lot of talking and listening, really. No big corporate meetings or anything like that. Just us in Kurla trying to make things a bit better for the folks around here.
