Komal Arts is tucked away at 20/5 Harit Niwas on Gondavali Road. We are in Andheri East, quite close to K K Bhavan, or the Kamgar Kalyan Kendra as some call it. It’s a residential-feeling area but we’ve turned our space into a workshop of sorts. There’s always some project going on, so the place is usually a bit cluttered with materials and half-finished pieces. We don't have a big storefront, so you have to look for the Harit Niwas building to find us. It’s a small operation, just a couple of us working on various art and design tasks. We spend a lot of time at our drafting tables or on the floor putting things together. The lighting isn't always perfect, but we make it work. Sometimes the neighbors pop in to see what we're making. It’s a relaxed atmosphere, not like a stiff corporate office at all. We have our own way of doing things. We don't have a big marketing budget, so we just rely on people seeing our work and telling their friends. It’s been our home base for a long time. We like the neighborhood because it’s got a bit of a creative feel to it. Every day is a little different depending on what we are working on. We just keep our heads down and stay busy with our crafts. The walk to the main road is short but we mostly stay in the workshop.
