Our office is tucked away in Rajabahadur Mansion, which is one of those old buildings you see around Fort. We are on the 4th floor, specifically in office number 21. If you know Mumbai Samachar Marg, it’s a busy spot with lots of history and people rushing to work every morning. It can be a bit of a climb if the lift is acting up, but we’ve gotten used to it over the years. We focus on things related to the Kokan region because that’s where many of us have our roots. The rooms are filled with folders and the sound of the ceiling fans. It’s not a polished corporate space, just a practical place where we get our work done. Outside, the streets of Mumbai City are always noisy, but inside the mansion, it’s a bit quieter. We spend our days coordinating different projects and talking to people who come in from the coastal districts. Maharashtra is a big state, and we mostly look after things for the folks from back home. There are always people dropping by with questions or just to share some news from the village. We don’t have a big marketing team or anything like that. It’s just a few of us sitting in Fort, trying to be useful to the Kokan community. Sometimes the rain leaks a little near the window, but we just move the chairs and keep going until the day is done.
