Koita Foundation

Working out of Vivarea Tower in Mahalaxmi means dealing with the Mumbai humidity every single morning before getting into the lobby. We’re up on the 37th floor, Flat 3702 in the B wing, and while the height is nice, it’s just where we happen to be. The elevators are fast but sometimes you're waiting a while when the building is busy. Sane Guruji Marg down below is usually a mess of cars and people, and you can hear the city humming even from this high up if you open a window. The office isn't anything fancy, just some desks and the usual clutter of paperwork and half-empty chai cups by the afternoon. It gets bright in here when the sun hits the glass. Sometimes we go down to the local stalls for a quick bite because sitting in a tower all day feels a bit disconnected. Mahalaxmi is a busy part of Mumbai and being tucked away in this residential-commercial mix is just how things worked out for Koita Foundation. Most of the time it’s just the sound of keyboards and the distant honking of the trains near the station. It’s a decent enough spot to get things done without too much fuss. We’ve been here a while and gotten used to the security checks at the gate. It’s a lot of floors to go up, but you get used to the routine of it all pretty quickly after the first week or so.
