Kintsukuroi Foundation

You’ll find us at Navjeevan Society on Dr Dadasaheb Bhadkamkar Marg, which most people know as Lamington Road. We’re on the 8th floor, units 25 and 26. It’s right in the heart of Mumbai Central. If you’ve been to this area, you know how hectic it is with all the electronics shops and the constant buzz of people. We’ve got a view of the city from up here, which is nice when things get stressful. Kintsukuroi Foundation is a small team. We chose this name because it means fixing things with gold, but we mostly just fix things with hard work and patience. The office is often full of boxes and papers. We don't have a receptionist or anyone like that; we just answer the door ourselves. It’s a bit of a climb if the lift is acting up, but we don’t mind. We aren't doing this for the fame or the money. We just saw some gaps in how people were being helped and decided to fill them. Most of our days are spent on the phone or meeting with people across Mumbai. It’s a lot of logistics and trying to make ends meet. We aren't perfect, and our office certainly isn't either, but we care about the work we do. It’s just a group of us trying to make sense of things in a very busy city.
