I have been here at Mohini Mansion for a while now. Colaba is always moving, especially around Strand Road. Sometimes the sea breeze reaches us, but mostly it is just the sound of taxis and people walking to the Post Office. I started this because I needed a place to work that felt like home but wasn't my living room. It's a small space, really. Just enough for what I do. You have to walk up a bit, and the stairs are old, but the building has character. I spend most of my mornings sorting through things and answering the phone. It gets quiet in the afternoons when the sun is hitting the building hard. Around four o'clock, I usually have a cup of tea. People stop by sometimes just to ask for directions since we are so close to the main landmarks. It is not a fancy office with glass walls or anything like that. Just some desks and paper and my laptop. I like being in this part of town because everything you need is just a short walk away. Even when it rains and the streets get messy, Colaba has a way of looking okay. I don't plan on moving anytime soon. This spot on Strand Road feels right for now. It is just me and the work I handle every day. Nothing too complicated about it. We just get on with things and try to keep the desk organized.
