You can find us at Building Number 7 on Dadisheth Agiary Lane in Kalbadevi. We are quite close to the Adarsh Hotel, which is a good landmark if you're getting lost in these narrow lanes. This part of Mumbai is always packed with people and carts moving goods. Inside our shop, it's a bit quieter. We handle a lot of different things related to art and framing. There are stacks of frames leaning against the walls and the smell of wood and glue is always there. We spend hours cutting glass and measuring borders. It’s a lot of manual work. Sometimes we get old photos that need a new frame, or someone brings in a painting they bought. We aren't a big gallery or anything. It’s more of a workshop where we get our hands dirty. The light in the lane isn't great, so we have a few bright bulbs inside to see what we're doing. People stop by after eating at the hotel nearby just to look at what we have on the walls. We’ve been in Kalbadevi for a long time and the shop has stayed pretty much the same. We use old tools that still work perfectly fine. It’s a small space, so we have to be careful not to knock anything over. We just focus on getting the edges straight and the glass clean. If the frame isn't right, we just do it over until it looks okay to us and the customer is happy to take it home.
