Kalakruti Devotion To Art

We’ve been here in the basement of Ajanta Shopping Center for a while now. It’s right on Daftary Road, basically a quick walk from the Malad Station. We focus on art things here at Kalakruti. Most days you'll find us busy with different projects. It gets a bit cramped sometimes being downstairs, but we make it work for what we need. People usually stop by after getting off the train in the evenings. It's not a fancy place at all. We have our supplies piled up and the work we do scattered around. It’s mostly just about getting things done and helping people who walk in looking for something specific for their own projects. The shop is a bit tucked away, so if you're looking for us, just head down the stairs near the main entrance. Sometimes the lighting isn't great down here, but it suits the kind of work we do. We've stayed in this spot because everyone in Malad East knows where the shopping center is. It’s a busy area with lots of noise from the street, but once you come down here, it’s a bit quieter. We aren't trying to be some big gallery or anything like that. Just us doing our work every day. We open up early and stay till the evening hours. If you're around here, you've probably walked past us a dozen times without noticing. It’s a practical space for art. We just come in and get to it.
