Kala Sangam

We’ve been here at Shop No 1 right opposite the railway station in Santa Cruz West for quite a while now. The shop is on Phirozshah Road, and if you’re coming from the Goregaon West side, it’s not too hard to find us once you get near the station area. It’s always busy around here because of the trains, which keeps us on our toes most days. We mostly handle things ourselves, just a small group of us making sure everything is in its place. Sometimes the shop gets a bit crowded with stock, but we prefer having what people need right then and there. It isn’t a fancy place with big lights or anything like that. We just focus on getting the work done and helping whoever walks through the door. Some people have been coming to see us for years, and we know most of the neighbors by name. The commute can be a bit much with the traffic on Phirozshah Road, but being near the station is good for the business. We don't really do much advertising or anything. People just see the sign when they get off the train or hear about us from a friend. It’s a simple setup. We open up early, drink some tea, and stay until the evening rush starts to die down. It’s just how we’ve always run Kala Sangam. Nothing too complicated, just a local spot that’s been part of the street for a long time now.
