Kala Arekhan

Being based at Manas on P L Lokhande Marg means we see a lot of the Chembur life every single day. Kala Arekhan isn't some high-rise studio or a big corporate firm; it’s a spot where we actually sit down and get our hands into the work. It’s right here in Punyai Nagar, and if you know Satara Road, you know it gets quite busy around here during the peak hours. We’ve got our tools, our drafting desks, and a lot of paper usually lying around the place. It gets a bit messy when we’re in the middle of a big project, but that’s just how it is when you’re actually working hard. The neighbors know us well, and we know the guy who brings the mail every afternoon. We don't have a big fancy reception area or anything like that. You just walk in and see us doing what we do. Sometimes the traffic outside is so loud we have to shout a bit to hear each other, but you get used to it. We've been at this address for a while now. It’s a practical space for practical people. We don’t spend much time worrying about how the office looks to outsiders, we just care about getting the drawings or whatever the client needs finished on time. It’s a simple life, really. We wake up, come to the shop, drink some chai, and start working. Chembur has a specific feel to it, and we definitely fit right into that vibe.
