Janhavi Arts

Janhavi Arts is right in the middle of Borivili West. We are at Shop Number 4 in the Dattani Trade Centre on Chandravarkar Road. Since it’s a trade center, there is always a lot of movement and different businesses around us. Our shop is on the ground floor, so people are constantly walking past the window. It is a compact space, filled with the tools and materials we need for our art work. We have a counter at the front where we talk to people, and then the work area is just behind that. It’s a bit of a squeeze when we get a big delivery of supplies. Borivili is a fast-paced area, and Chandravarkar Road is usually humming with traffic and pedestrians. Inside the shop, we try to keep things as tidy as possible, but when you’re working with your hands, there is always a bit of a mess. We have some bright lights overhead so we can see the details of what we are doing. The floor is easy to sweep, which is good because we get a lot of foot traffic from the trade center. Most people who stop by are from the nearby offices or live in the apartment buildings around here. We don’t have any fancy decorations. We just have our equipment and a place to work. It’s a simple life at Janhavi Arts, just showing up and getting through the list of things to do before we close up for the night.
