Jai Ram Stores

Jai Ram Stores is located at Sion 58. It’s a very simple shop that has been a part of this neighborhood for many years. We aren't a big supermarket or anything like that. We just sell the basic things that people in Sion need for their daily lives. The shop is small and can get a bit crowded when more than two or three people are inside at once. We know almost everyone who walks through the door by their first name. It makes the day go by faster when you can have a little chat with the neighbors while you work. We don't have any fancy displays or expensive lighting. It’s just shelves filled with goods. Every morning we open the shutters and get things ready for the day. Sometimes it gets a bit dusty because of the traffic on the main road, so we spend a lot of time cleaning. We don't use any computers or modern systems. We just use a simple bill book and a calculator. It’s the way we’ve always done it. People come to us because they know we are reliable and we’ve been here at number 58 forever. We don't try to compete with the big stores. We just do our own thing and look after our regulars. It’s a steady, honest way to make a living in Sion. Most days are the same, but we don't mind the routine at all. It feels good to be part of the community here.
