Irk Welfare Foundation

Irk Welfare Foundation operates out of Gat No 154P No 16. It is a modest place, really just a room where we keep our supplies and a few chairs for meetings. We do not have a big fancy entrance. Most people find us by word of mouth or by just knowing where Gat No 154 is. We are a small group, mostly friends and family who wanted to do something for the people around here. We do not have a big strategy or a glossy brochure. We just look at what needs to be fixed and see if we can help. Sometimes we are collecting old clothes, other times we are helping someone with their school fees. It is all very hands-on. We spend a lot of time on the phone or walking around the local area. The office is often a bit messy with boxes and papers, but we know where everything is. We are not trying to be a huge NGO. We just want to be a reliable place for our neighbors to turn to. Life in Maharashtra can be tough for some, and we just try to smooth things out where we can. We do not take ourselves too seriously, but we take the work seriously. Every day is different. We might be sitting in the office one minute and out in the field the next. It is just how we operate. We are just a small team with big hearts.
