Our shop is number 123 inside the Gundecha Industri area in Kandivali East. It’s a bit of a walk from the main gate, but we are near the Big Bazaar so that helps people find the turn-off. Mohammad Ali Road is always jammed with trucks and delivery tempos, so getting stuff delivered to us can be a bit of a headache. The building is old and looks like every other industrial block around here. It’s dusty and there’s always someone using a drill or a hammer in the unit next door. We do art stuff, but it’s more of a workshop than a fancy gallery. We have canvases and frames leaning against the walls in no particular order. Sometimes we run out of space and have to move things into the hallway for a bit while we work. The lift in the building is very slow, so we usually just take the stairs to save time. It’s a lot of physical work, moving heavy frames and wooden crates. We don’t have a receptionist sitting at a desk. If you come by, you’ll probably find us with paint on our clothes or holding a staple gun. We don’t bother with fancy business cards much. Most of our work comes from the other shops nearby or people who live in Kandivali. We just try to get the orders done on time so nobody complains. The tea stall downstairs is where we spend our breaks. (248 words)
