Hand For Handmade Foundation

We set up shop at 11/12 in the Raghuvanshi Mill Compound. If you know Lower Parel, you know it is always moving. Hand For Handmade Foundation is right near Phoenix Mills on Senapati Bapat Marg, so there is always something happening outside our doors. Inside, it is a bit different. We focus on things that are made by hand. The space we have is quite old-school, which actually fits what we do pretty well. We spend a lot of time talking to artisans and looking at different crafts. It gets a bit messy sometimes with samples and fabrics lying around everywhere. We are not the type to have a polished corporate office with glass walls. It is more of a workshop feel where everyone just chips in. Sometimes it is a bit chaotic when we are preparing for an event or a new project. Lower Parel can be a nightmare for traffic, so we usually just stay put once we get in for the morning. We have been in this compound for a while now and we like the history of the buildings here. It feels right for a foundation that cares about traditional skills. We do not have a massive staff, just a handful of people who really care about keeping these handmade traditions going. It is hard work and the days are long, but we would not really want to be anywhere else. We just keep at it.
