Govind Art

You can find us at Govind Dham on S V Road in Bandra West. We’re also connected to the area near Amar Nagar and W T Patil Marg, not too far from the Jari Mari Temple. This place is mostly about the work we do with our hands. We call it Govind Art because that’s what we’ve always been called by the folks around here. It’s a workspace filled with materials and projects in different stages of being finished. It’s not a gallery or anything like that. It’s more of a workshop where things actually get made. There is usually dust on the floor and paint or ink on our clothes. We don't really dress up for work. The neighborhood is busy, especially with the temple nearby, so there is always a lot of movement outside. We’ve been here for years, and the building has seen better days, but it works for us. We handle different kinds of artistic jobs, whatever people in Bandra or the surrounding bits need. Sometimes it's signage, sometimes it's something more decorative for a home. We don't have a big marketing plan or a sales team. People just know we are here on S V Road and they stop by to chat about their ideas. It’s a quiet life inside the shop compared to the street. We just focus on the task at hand and try to get it done. Nothing more to it than that.
