I spend most of my time over at Nair Hospital on Dr Nair Road. It’s right in the heart of Mumbai Central, which is always a bit of a chaotic area to be in. If you know the 400008 area, you know how busy the streets get around the station. The hospital itself is a big place, and I’m just one part of what goes on here. My office is tucked away, and it’s usually piled high with papers and files that I need to get through. It’s not the most organized-looking space, but I know where everything is. People come from all over the city to this hospital. It doesn't matter if it's raining or heatwave weather, the halls are always full. I started working here quite a while ago. It's a lot of walking back and forth between wards. The coffee from the canteen downstairs is okay if you're desperate, but mostly I just bring a bottle of water. I try to see everyone who has an appointment, though sometimes things run late because of emergencies. That's just how hospital life is. It isn't a glamorous job, but it keeps me occupied. Most days I’m just wearing my coat and moving from one room to the next. You get to meet a lot of different people, which is probably the most interesting part of being based in Mumbai Central. It’s a real mix of everyone.
