Ganesh Devji Art

We’ve been tucked away in Room No 69 at Gulmohommad Chawl for quite some time now. This part of Dharavi, right off BT Kavde Road, is where everything happens for us. It isn’t a fancy studio or anything like that. It’s just a small space where we get the work done. Ganesh Devji Art is really just a bunch of us focusing on our crafts every day. Sometimes the street gets noisy, and the chawl is always busy, but we’re used to it. People drop by because they know where to find us. We don't have a big front office. It is mostly just tools and materials lying around while we finish whatever project is on the table. Living and working in this spot means we see the same faces every morning. We like being part of the local scene here. It’s a bit cramped, sure, but it works for what we do. We don't spend much time on paperwork or fancy talks. Most of our day goes into the actual hands-on stuff. If you walk down the lane past the main road, you'll eventually see our sign. It's a simple life here in the chawl. We just keep our heads down and stay busy with the art pieces. There is always a lot of movement around the gulmohommad chawl area, and that keeps us motivated to keep creating things every single day without fail. We aren't doing anything grand, just keeping the shop open and doing what we know how to do. That’s pretty much the story.
