Gallery V5

If you are looking for Gallery V5, you have to head over to Fort. We are in the FGP Centre on the third floor of the Commercial Union House. It is tucked away right behind the New Excelsior Cinema. That area is full of old buildings and narrow lanes, so it feels very different from the newer parts of the city. Being on the third floor means it is a bit quieter than the street level, which is nice when you are trying to look at art or talk about a project. We did not want a place that felt like a cold, empty museum. The rooms have high ceilings and some old windows that let in a bit of natural light, depending on the time of day. Most of our work involves showing different pieces and helping people figure out what fits their space. We do not have a massive staff. It is mostly just a couple of us handling everything from unpacking crates to hanging the frames on the walls. Sometimes the lift in the building acts up, so walking the stairs is good exercise. We spend a lot of our time just organizing things and talking to the people who drop by. It is a bit of a maze getting back here the first time, but once you find us, it is a calm spot in a very busy part of town. We just like having a space where things can be seen properly without all the rush.
