Fun With Fingertips

Fun With Fingertips is way up on the 13th floor of the Girnar Building. We are located in Tardeo, right opposite the Film Center. Being on a high floor means we get a bit of a view of Mumbai, though we’re usually too busy to look out the window. The space is at room 1302. We do a lot of activities here that involve using your hands and being creative. It’s not a typical shop where you just buy things and leave. The atmosphere is generally quite informal and relaxed. I think it’s important for people to have a place where they can just focus on a task. Tardeo is a hectic area, so coming up to the 13th floor feels like leaving the noise behind for a bit. We started this because we liked the idea of doing something tactile. There’s often stuff spread out on the tables—paints, clay, or whatever else we’re working with at the time. It’s not always perfectly tidy, but that’s how it goes when you’re actually making things. We don't have a big marketing budget or a polished reception area. It’s just a workspace where things happen. Sometimes the lift takes a while to arrive, which is the only real downside of being up here. People usually find us because a friend told them about the place. We just keep doing our thing. The 13th floor is high enough that we don't get much dust.
