Freelance Photography

I'm located over in Borivali East, specifically in the Shub Sarita building in Shrikrishna Nagar. It’s a pretty standard residential area, and that’s exactly how I like it. My apartment, A 201, doubles as my workspace for my freelance photography. I’ve been doing this for a few years now, mostly focusing on whatever comes my way. I didn't set out to be a professional, but after a while, you realize you've got enough equipment and experience that you might as well make it a job. My day usually starts with checking my gear and making sure all my batteries are charged up. I don't have a fancy website or a marketing team. Word of mouth in the building and the surrounding society is usually how I find work. Someone needs a passport photo, or they have a small gathering, and they give me a call. I like the Shrikrishna Nagar area because it’s relatively quiet compared to the main road. When I’m not out shooting, I’m usually at my desk staring at a monitor. It can get a bit lonely working by yourself all day, but the flexibility is nice. I don't have to deal with a boss, just the people who hire me to take their pictures. I try to keep my prices fair and my work honest. It’s just me and my camera, trying to make things work in Mumbai.
