Flavours Homemade Chocolates

Flavours Homemade Chocolates is located on the 1st floor in Malabar Hill, which is a fairly quiet spot compared to the busy streets below. We spend most of our time in a small workspace where the fridge is always hummed in the background. It is a very hands-on process, from tempering the chocolate to choosing which fillings to use for the day. We don't use any big machines, just bowls and spatulas and a lot of patience. Sometimes the chocolate doesn't set right if the humidity is too high, which can be really frustrating when you have a deadline. We spend a lot of time on the packaging because we want the boxes to look decent when people give them as gifts. The 1st floor location means we don't get many walk-in customers, so we mostly deal with people who already know us. I spend a lot of my afternoon answering the phone and writing down delivery addresses. It’s a lot of repetitive work, especially during the festive seasons when everyone wants a box at the same time. My hands are usually stained with dark chocolate by the time I finish for the day. We keep the space very tidy because you can't have any dust getting into the mixtures. It isn't a corporate setup at all, just a small operation where we do everything ourselves. Sometimes we run out of certain ingredients and have to go out and find them in the local markets nearby.
