Our office for Morde Foods Pvt.Ltd. is in the Victoria Building, right on Dr B A Road in Byculla East. It is at 55/1. If you know that part of Mumbai, you know it has that old-world feel mixed with a lot of modern chaos. The building itself has a bit of character to it, though it has definitely seen better days. We are on one of the floors there, handling the business side of our food products. It is a busy office. There are always people coming in and out, and the phones never seem to stop ringing. We aren’t really into the whole corporate culture thing with strictly timed breaks and fancy coffee machines. We just have a kettle and some biscuits in the back. It is a comfortable enough place to work, even if the noise from the road downstairs can be a bit much during the evening rush hour. We deal with chocolate and other food items, so sometimes the office smells a bit like cocoa, which is actually quite nice. Most of the staff here have been around for years, so we are more like a big, slightly disorganized family than a company. We do not have a flashy lobby or a bunch of posters with slogans on them. We just focus on making sure the orders are processed and the suppliers are happy. It is a straightforward way to run things, and it works for us.
