Our spot is G-5 in Pil Court, right there on 111 Maharshi Karve Road. It’s a busy street in Churchgate, so there’s always people walking past the windows. Being right behind the Korean Air office makes it easy for folks to find us if they know the area. Brins Candy Foods has been operating out of this ground floor space for some time now. It’s a bit cramped with all the boxes, but we manage. You can hear the traffic outside and the occasional train whistle if the wind is right. We don’t have any fancy signs, just the name on the door. Most days it’s just us handling the paperwork and checking the stock. The building is older, so the walls have some cracks and the paint is peeling a little bit in the corners. We keep a fan going because it gets stuffy in the afternoons. Sometimes the delivery guys have a hard time parking on the main road, so we have to run out and meet them. It’s a fast-paced part of the city, and we just try to keep up with everything. There’s a small tea stall around the corner where we usually grab a quick break. It’s nothing special, just our daily routine in a crowded part of Mumbai. We’ve got a rhythm down now after being here so long. It keeps us busy and the days go by quickly.
