Barry Calibaut India Pvt. Ltd. is located on the 4th floor of the Times Square Building in unit 401. It’s a modern building compared to some of the others in the neighborhood. We have a lot of windows that look out over the street, which is nice when the sun starts to go down. The office has the usual stuff like desks, chairs, and a small area where we keep the coffee machine. Since we are on the fourth floor, we spend a lot of time waiting for the elevator, which can be slow when everyone is coming in at nine. We deal with chocolate and food ingredients, so sometimes the office has a faint sweet smell, though it’s mostly just the smell of air conditioning and paper. There are quite a few of us working here and it can get pretty quiet when everyone is focused on their laptops. We have some meeting rooms but they are mostly used for storage of samples and brochures. The staff usually brings lunch from home and we eat at our desks while scrolling through our phones. It is a bit more corporate-looking than a street-level shop, but we still have piles of files and messy desks just like anywhere else. The view of the city is probably the best part about being up here on the fourth floor.
