Dreamaking Foundation

Dreamaking Foundation is located in Metro House on Mahatma Gandhi Road in Mumbai. We are on the first floor at Plot 53. Being right on MG Road means it's always loud with buses and taxis honking all day long. The building is old but it has character. You have to walk up a flight of stairs that are a bit steep. Once you get inside, it’s just a regular office with a few tables and some filing cabinets that don't always close right. We started this foundation because we wanted to do something practical for the city. We aren't a big operation with hundreds of employees. It’s just a small team of us. Most days we are busy responding to calls or planning out our next steps. We don't have any fancy decorations on the walls, just some calendars and a few photos of the work we've done. The air conditioning works most of the time, which is a relief in the Mumbai heat. We spend a lot of time on the phone or meeting people who walk in off the street. Since we are in the middle of Mumbai City, we get all kinds of visitors. We don't have a formal pitch or anything like that. We just explain what we are doing and see if people want to join in. It’s a bit chaotic sometimes, especially when everyone is talking at once, but we manage to get things done. We’re just ordinary people working out of a modest office on Mahatma Gandhi Road.
