Doorja Foundation

We are situated in Kalbadevi, inside the Nanawati Building on Kolbhat Lane. Our space is on the first floor, at 14 E, Cheul Wadi. This part of Mumbai is incredibly busy and the lanes are narrow. You can always hear the sound of carts and people shouting outside. The building is old, and you can feel that history when you walk up the stairs. Our office is small and packed with files. We don't have much room for anything extra, so every inch is used for something. It’s often hot and the ceiling fans are always humming. We don’t have a fancy lobby or a receptionist to greet you. If you come by, you’ll probably just see us hunched over our desks or talking on the phone. It’s a bit chaotic sometimes, but that’s just how Kalbadevi is. We like the energy of the area, even if it’s a bit stressful during peak hours. We aren't some big high-rise office with glass windows. We are just a small foundation working out of a traditional Mumbai building. We do our best to stay on top of our tasks despite the clutter and the noise. It’s a very real place to work and we are used to the rhythm of the lane. Most of us have been working here for years and we know the neighborhood inside out.
