Donor For India Foundation

Our place is at the Spring Mill Chawl in Dadar East. We are on the first floor, in room B-23. Being on G D Ambekar Marg in Naigaon means we're right in the heart of a very traditional part of the city. The Donor For India Foundation is really just about connecting people. We don't have a flashy office or a big staff. It's just a couple of rooms in the chawl where we keep track of who needs what and who might be able to give it. It’s very basic. We spend a lot of time talking to donors and finding out where help is needed most. Sometimes it's for food, sometimes for school supplies or medicine. It changes every single week. We aren't a big corporate charity. We're just neighbors helping neighbors. The building is old and the stairs are a bit steep, but it’s home to us. We know the people around Naigaon and they know they can come to us if things get tough. We don't use a lot of fancy language to describe our work. We just see a gap and try to bridge it. It's often quiet in the office, just us working through our lists and making calls. We don't have big events or anything like that. We just do the work, bit by bit, from our little spot in the Spring Mill Chawl. It’s what we know and it’s what we do for the community.
