Dhanyavad Divyang Foundation

Dhanyavad Divyang Foundation is located right in Sainagar Chawl. Our room is number 002, which is on the ground floor, so nobody has to climb any stairs which is good for the people we see. It’s in the Bhutbangala area of Devi Pada in Borivali East. Mumbai is always loud and our street is no different. You can hear the kids playing outside and the bikes going past all day long. The office is small, just one main room where we keep our stuff and some files. We have a few plastic chairs for visitors and a desk that’s seen better days, but it holds our computer just fine. We do our work for the foundation right there. Since we are in a chawl, everyone knows everyone's business, which helps when we are trying to reach out to the neighbors. We don't have a big sign, just a small hand-painted board so people don't miss the door. It gets quite hot in the afternoons, so we usually keep the door open to get a bit of a breeze from the alleyway. We handle a lot of different things for the folks who come to see us. It’s not a corporate setup at all. We just drink our chai and talk to the people who drop by. Borivali is a big place but this little room is where we stay and do our bit. We try to keep things practical and helpful for everyone.
