My work is based out of Ameeta Nursing Home in Chembur. If you know where the old Natraj Theatre used to be, we are located right across from that spot on Karve Road. It is pretty close to the railway station too, so there is always a lot of noise and people moving about right outside our door. The nursing home has been in this spot for a good many years. Inside, it looks like a typical local medical place. There are some chairs in the waiting area that have definitely seen better days, and the lighting is just that standard bright white you expect. I usually get here in the morning and stay until all the appointments are finally finished. It is not a huge hospital, just a regular nursing home where we handle the daily patients who come in. Sometimes the traffic on Karve Road makes it really hard for people to find a parking spot, so many of them just walk over from the station. We do not really do much advertising around here. Most people find us because they live in the neighborhood or someone they know told them where we are. It gets a bit cramped when we are busy, but we make it work. I try to keep my desk tidy but there are always files and charts everywhere. It feels like a real part of the Chembur community. We just focus on the people who come in. (248 words)
