Deepali Arts

Our workshop is tucked away in Gala Number 1 on the third floor of the N X Building. We are over in Mazgaon, which is very close to the Dockyard Road Station. Being so near the station is handy for getting to work, though the stairs can be a bit of a climb when the lift is being fussy. We do our art and design work here. The space is filled with canvases, frames, and bits of material we use for our projects. It’s not the most organized place in the world, but we know where everything is. The light comes in quite well through the windows in the morning. We often have the radio playing in the background while we work. It’s a bit of an old building, so you can hear the trains passing by every now and then. We handle a lot of different requests from people in the area. Sometimes the floor is covered in wood shavings or paint drips, but that is just how an art studio looks. We usually have a pot of tea sitting on a side table to share. It’s a quiet enough spot once you get inside. We just keep our heads down and focus on making things. It is a good place for us to stay creative without too many distractions. Most of our tools are quite old but they still do the job better than the new ones you see today.
