Our little shop, Deepa Arts, is tucked away in the Tripaitak Society at Shop No 403. We are over in Andheri West, specifically in the Charkop area and not too far from the R T O office. It is a bit of a walk depending on which gate you use to enter the society, but we have been here for a long time. We do various types of art-related work, mostly framing pictures and some basic design stuff for people in the neighborhood. The space is filled with frames of all different sizes and you can always smell the wood and glue. It is a bit messy, to be honest. We have stacks of glass and backing board leaning against the walls most days. We do not have a big marketing budget or a shiny storefront on the main road. Most of our customers come because someone they know told them we do a decent job for a fair price. Sometimes we get a big order and the whole shop feels even smaller than it already is. We try to get things done when we say we will, though sometimes the humid weather makes the paint dry slow or the materials do not arrive on time from the suppliers. We are just regular people trying to make a living with our hands. It is relatively quiet in the society compared to the noise near the R T O. We like the slow pace here.
