Darshan Art

We are located at Shop Number 14 in Ismail Baug. It is right in Malad West, very close to the railway station, so it is always crowded outside. If you are coming from Alkapuri or even as far as Vadodara, you’ll find us easily enough near the tracks. The shop is small, but we pack a lot into it. There is usually the smell of paint or wood shavings in the air. Since we are near the Malad West station, there is a constant stream of people rushing past the door. We see all kinds of faces every day. It’s a bit of a squeeze inside with all the frames and art materials leaning against the walls. We have been here for a long time, so we know the local chai wala and the other shopkeepers pretty well. It gets loud with the trains passing by and the honking, but you stop noticing it after a while. We aren't a big corporate gallery. It’s just a local shop where we do our work by hand. The lighting isn't the best, but we know where everything is. Sometimes customers bring in old photos or things they want to frame, and we spend time talking about the best way to do it without any fuss. It’s a busy life here in Malad, and we just keep doing what we know. It is a bit messy, but that's how art shops usually are when people are actually working.
