Cymroza Art Gallery

Cymroza Art Gallery is up on the first floor of Hormuz Mansion. You’ll find us at 72 Bhulabhai Desai Road, which is pretty close to Breachcandy Hospital. We’re also right next to the American Consulate, so the security around here is usually quite tight. Being in the Breach Candy area means there’s always people moving about outside, but it’s a bit more peaceful once you walk into the mansion and head upstairs. Our space isn't like those huge, cold galleries you see in movies. It’s a bit more lived-in and has a regular feel to it. We spend our mornings checking the light and moving pieces around to make sure everything looks okay. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. It’s just us keeping the place running day by day. Sometimes the traffic on Bhulabhai Desai Road makes it a bit of a hassle to get here, but we’ve been at this spot for a long time now. We like the history of the building and the way the rooms are laid out. It’s not about being fancy or corporate for us. We just appreciate having a dedicated spot for the work we do. We keep the doors open and wait for people to wander in. It’s a straightforward life here. We don't use complicated words to describe what happens inside. We just look after the place and make sure it is ready for whoever stops by to see us.
